Anne K. Russ of Vineyard Haven died peacefully at her home on August 11. She was 98.

Anne was born on Nov. 19, 1911, in New York city and lived there until her teenage years when she moved to Dunellen, N.J. She had been living on the Vineyard since the 1980s.

She was the daughter of Theodore Petcoff and Katherine (Wermilinger) Petcoff. She married David George Russ some 40 years ago. He died in November of 1991.

She is survived by her cousin, Patricia Cashin of Brick, N.J., and her caregiver, Margaret Signh.

A graveside service for the interment of her ashes will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery, Vineyard Haven on Friday, August 20 at 11 a.m. officiated by the Rev. Arlene Bodge.
