Dorothy L. (Allen) Tripp of Somerset, formerly of the Vineyard, died on Monday, Jan. 3, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. She was 83 and was the wife of 41 years to Donald G. Tripp and also the late Bjarne W. Larsen.

Dorothy was born on the Vineyard, the daughter of the late Albert W. and Leonora B. (Smith) Allen. She graduated from high school on the Island and then devoted her life to raising her family. Mrs. Tripp enjoyed sewing, gardening and playing bingo.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; a daughter, Marsha L. Mason of Cherry Valley; two sons, John A. Larsen and Stephen W. Larsen both of Chilmark; a sister, Roberta Morgan of Chilmark; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A graveside service for Dorothy was held on Thursday at Abel’s Hill Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care of the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals in Somerset.
