Anne Margaret Nason died peacefully on April 16 at the age of 93.
She was the devoted wife of the late John H. Nason, loving mother of John, Stephen, and Michelle, cherished grandmother of Andy, Lee, Caitlin, Ryan, and Shawn, and great-grandmother of Caitlin, Declan, Kailee, and Isla. Always a stylish New Yorker, she adored the city; she was a wartime wife while John was a Pacific submariner, and she was a loving and devoted mother of three.
Though she lived in many places, her most cherished was her beautiful home on Sengekontacket Pond on Martha’s Vineyard. She loved reading, flowers, birds andfamily. She would summarize her life in the words of one of her favorite poets, Edna St. Vincent Millay: “My candle burns at both ends; It will not last the night; But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends — It gives a lovely light.”
Her wisdom, love, and light will be in our hearts forever.
