Louise Lichtneker, a seasonal resident of Ocean Heights in Edgartown, died on March 12 at Liberty Shores Assisted Living in Poulsbo, Wash., where she had resided for the past six years.

Louise was born in New York, N.Y., on May 27, 1915. She was the sister of the late Ludwig Knorr and began her trips to the Island at the age of 13. In 1955, she and her family moved to Blauvelt, N.Y., where she resided for 50 years. She was employed as the purchasing agent for the South Orangetown Central School District in Orangeburg, N.Y., until her retirement in 1985.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lichtneker, brother Ludwig Knorr and brother Herman Schmidt. She is survived by her daughter, Gail A. Francis of Seabeck, Wash.; a granddaughter, Michelle L. Wetzler; a great-grandson, Theodore Francis Wetzler; and a great-granddaughter, Haileigh Louise Wetzler born March 8, all of Lakewood, Wash.

Louise enjoyed gardening, needlepoint, reading and her love of animals.

A memorial service was held at Liberty Shores on April 27.
