Willard Marshall Marden Jr. died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 24, at his home in East Falmouth. He was 88.
Mr. Marden was predeceased by his wife, Madeline T. (Costa) Marden, in July, 2010, and he was the former husband of Beverly (Campos) DeSorcey of Edgartown.
Willard is survived by his sons, Robert Maseda of West Yarmouth and Willard M. Marden 3rd of Oak Bluffs; his daughters, Deborah Conley of E. Falmouth and Julia Ann Marden of So. Ryegate, Vt; 11 grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; his sister, Anna Monteiro of New Bedford and two brothers, Lloyd Marden and Leroy Marden, both of New Bedford. He was predeceased by his son, Kenneth Maseda in 1983.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 27 in Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, 584 Route 28A in West Falmouth from 6 to 8 p.m. and in Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road, Oak Bluffs on Thursday, July 28 from noon to 1:30 p.m. His graveside service will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, State Road, Vineyard Haven at 2 p.m. with military honors provided by the veterans of Martha’s Vineyard.
