Christopher Carl Yackley, 44, of Culver City, Calif., and formerly of Foxboro, died suddenly on Sept. 17 in California.

Born in Cambridge on August 3, 1967, the son of Charles C. Yackley and Barbara A. Sheerer and her husband Frederic, Mr. Yackley was raised in Foxboro and had lived in California for several years.

He was a graduate of Foxboro High School where he had his own show on local cable television and wrote sports reports for the Fox Reporter. He received an associate degree in communications from Dean College and a bachelor’s degree in communications from Emerson College. Following college he was the news anchor at the Presque Isle, Maine television station.

He then had a radio program on Martha’s Vineyard.

Several years ago he moved to California where he was a personal trainer at the A Tighter U. Athletic Club for over six years.

Mr. Yackley was also writing several scripts for television at the time of his death. He enjoyed photography, working out, biking, sports of all kinds and traveling. He was member of the Foxboro Knights of Columbus and had been a Big Brother sponsor.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Lorraine B. Grundy of Blackstone, and his brother, Charles K. Yackley of Brockton. He is also survived by his aunts, Angela Porter and Juanita Chafin of Culver City and his nieces, Meagan and Michelle.

A funeral was held on Wednesday, Sept. 28. Interment will be in the St. Mary’s parish cemetery in Franklin.
