Angelina (Angie) Whittemore, 89, a Vineyard resident for more than 63 years and owner of Old Barn Antiques in Vineyard Haven for 40 years, died Jan. 20.

Born March 5, 1922 in Boston, to Athanasia and Stavros Kariotis, Angie was a fun loving, gregarious person, a wonderful cook, and loved the beach, boating, dancing and music.

She spent her last two years at Emeritus Assisted Living in Plymouth. She graduated from Falmouth High School and went to Bryant and Stratton Business School in Boston.

Angie was predeceased by her husband and high school sweetheart, David, who died in 2005 and with whom she ran Old Barn Antiques. She was also predeceased by brother, Andrew Kariotis.

She leaves behind three daughters, Joan Whittemore, Margaret Plisinski and husband Paul, Dolores Lord, sister Helen Graham, brother George Kariotis and wife Ellen, and 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a very dear friend and caregiver at Emeritus, Lenora Behning.

Angie will be forever missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s of Cape Cod and Islands, 712 Main street, Hyannis, Ma. 02601.

A funeral Mass will be held in Falmouth at St. Patrick’s Church, 511 Main St. on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Falmouth.
