Doris (Arabagdis) Young, longtime resident of the Vineyard and Hillside Village, died at Massachusetts General Hospital on August 19 after a brief illness. She was 90.

Dottie was the devoted widow of Frank T. Young, wartime merchant seaman, rigger and sailmaker on the Vineyard and Mystic Seaport. She was a hairdresser in her youth and later a homemaker and seamstress, well-liked by friends and neighbors. Dottie is survived by her stepson, Bruce Young, of Springfield and Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and by her sister, Venus Anthony, of Long Island, N.Y.

After direct cremation, her remains will rest near a rose garden in Rio Rancho.
