Nancy Muir Pearce of Old Lyme, Conn., New York and Edgartown died on Nov. 9. She was born in New York city in 1921.

A lifelong abstract painter and interior designer, she was married to Malcolm Muir Jr. for 46 years until his death in 1984. Subsequently she married his childhood friend, Richard I. Pearce.

She is survived by her brother C. Maury Jones of Princeton, N.J. and three children: Katharine Muir of New York, Andrew Muir of Edgartown and Morgan Muir of Oakland, Calif. Her son, Malcolm Muir 3rd, predeceased her. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lida Moore Musso, Sarah Moore Rauch, Nicola Muir Fabens, James Joseph Malcolm Askin, MacDonald Andrew Pellessier Muir, Elizabeth Kelly Pellessier Muir, Eliza Curtis and eight great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24. at the New Westside Cemetery in Edgartown. A memorial service will be held in New York in January.
