Dr. William Michael Glazer, a seasonal resident of Menemsha, died at home on Sunday, June 24 surrounded by his family. A graveside service was held at Abel’s Hill on the morning of Monday, June 25, and was officiated by Cantor Louise Treitman.

Dr. Glazer was born in Hartford, Conn. on March 31, 1947 to Irma and Harry Glazer of Newington, Conn. He graduated from Clark University in 1969 and the University of Connecticut Medical School in 1973.

After completing his residency in psychiatry at Yale University, he joined the faculty where he remained until 1991. He later went into private practice. He leaves behind his wife, Roseline; his children, Aaron, Hilary and Jacob; daughters in law Dalia and Illana; and grandchildren Solomon, DvorahLeah, Samuel, Isaac and Ziva. He also leaves behind his father, Harry, brother Dan and sister in law Paula.

Dr. Glazer was a member of the Menemsha Pond racers and a two-star general of the Menemsha army. He was loved and admired by many friends and colleagues both on the Vineyard and in Connecticut, along with his patients for whom he cared very deeply.
