Mary R. Langley, formerly of Provincetown and Chappaquiddick, died August 2 at the Royal Falmouth Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Donald Langley, who died in 1998.

Mrs. Langley was born in Provincetown to the late Manuel and Anna (Salvador) Pires. She spent most of her life in Provincetown, attending Provincetown schools. Mrs. Langley was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post in Provincetown.

In her younger years Mrs. Langley enjoyed dancing and attending social functions at the VFW with her husband. In 2000 she moved to Chappaquiddick to live with her daughter Versie A. (Langley) Geary and her husband Daniel where she was a participant of the Supportive Day Program at the Anchors. She spent eight years there and in 2008 she moved to Falmouth.

Besides her daughter and son in law, she is survived by her son Donald Langley of Kagel Canyon, Calif., two granddaughters, Donna M. Cotter of Killingworth, Conn., and Dawn Pieper of Oakland, Calif., her grandson Daniel Geary of Durham, Conn., her six great-grandchildren, Daniel S. Geary Jr. and Michelle Geary, Leanna and Brooke Cotter, and Cole and Tate Pieper, as well as several nieces and nephews. Her brother Manuel Pieres predeceased her.

A graveside service took place on August 7 in St. Peter the Apostle Cemetery in Provincetown.
