Ann Elizabeth (O’Brien) Thompson of Barrington, R.I., and Edgartown died on April 29. She was 91.

Ann and her husband, the late Hon. Oliver L Thompson Jr., spent their summers on the Island from the early 1950s forward. Their six children continue that tradition to this day at their home on Sengekontacket Pond.

Ann is survived by her children, 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Her children are Oliver L. III (Barbara) of Atlanta, Ga.; William Brian of Jacksonville, Fla.; John Michael of Barrington, R.I.; Ann Scagos of Riverside, R.I.; Patricia Renner (Keith) of Ashaway, R.I.; and James Christopher (Ann Marie) of Barrington, R.I.

After a mass at St Luke’s Catholic Church in Barrington, Ann was buried at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Providence, R.I. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor and mailed to the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105 or to stjude.org.
