Richard Bowdre Leigh, a resident of Willingboro, N.J., and Martha’s Vineyard, died peacefully on August 12. He was 81.

Richard was born July 26, 1933 in Burlington, Vt., to the late Samuel and Mildred Leigh. He was raised in Manhattan and educated in the New York city public school system. After earning a bachelor’s degree in education at the University of Bridgeport, Richard started his professional career as an educator, however, he later transitioned into sales and marketing.

Richard was a Mason and a longstanding member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity. Richard will be deeply missed by the love of his life, Dolores Carney Leigh, and devoted daughters Karen and Susan. His passing will be mourned by a host of family and friends.

Visitation and funeral services will be held at Alpha Baptist Church located at 15 Rose street, Willingboro, N.J., on August 19. The viewing will be held at Alpha Baptist Church from 9 to 11 a.m. with the Omega service beginning at 10:30 a.m., followed by the homegoing service at 11 a.m.
