Mariette A. (Mulder) Perdigao of Marshfield, and a seasonal resident of Martha’s Vineyard, died May 6. She was 61.
She was the beloved wife of Paul B. Perdigao and loving daughter of the late Bernardus J. and Wilhelmina C. (Beretta) Mulder. She was the sister of Robert Mulder and his wife Chris of North Carolina, Sebastian Mulder of New Jersey, Lis Staehle and her husband William of New Jersey and Mark Mulder of Georgia. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mariette was born at home in Amsterdam on April 1, 1954 and lived there until 1957. The family then moved to London, Ontario where they lived for less than a year before moving to Lakewood, Ohio. In 1960 Mariette moved to River Edge, N.J. and attended St. Peter the Apostle grammar school, the Academy of the Holy Angels in Demarest (class of ‘72) and Bergen Community College. Mariette moved to Boston in 1978 and did additional studies at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. She was a registered nurse for close to 40 years. Mariette courageously fought and beat cancer for more than 17 years. She was a creative soul who was an accomplished photographer and pastel artist. She was a lover of West Highland terriers. She performed in various church choirs and was a proud member of the Pilgrim Festival Chorus. She was also a member of the Farm Neck Golf Club.
A memorial service was held at the North Community Church in Marshfield on Saturday, May 16. Interment will be held at a later date.
