Mrs. Vivian A. (Combra) DeBettencourt of Oak Bluffs died at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital on Sunday, July 5. She was 80.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard J. DeBettencourt. Her immediate family members are her daughter Gail, her son Douglas and his wife Jayne, her granddaughter Kimberly, and her granddaughter Kathryn and Kathryn’s husband Nicholas Townes.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home in Oak Bluffs. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 9, at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Vineyard avenue in Oak Bluffs. Donations in Mrs. DeBettencourt’s name may be made to Hospice of Martha’s Vineyard, PO Box 1748, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568. A complete obituary will follow in a future edition of the Gazette.
