Robert F. Tilton died on Thursday, July 23 at his home in Vineyard Haven. He was 84.

He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley (Knudsen) Tilton in May of 2013.

A graveside service for the interment of his cremains will be held on Saturday, August 1 at 10:30 a.m. at the Oak Grove Cemetery on State Road in Vineyard Haven.

Donations may be made in his memory to the Tisbury Firefighters Association, PO Box 1313, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568. Arrangements are under the care of the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home in Oak Bluffs. Visit www.ccgfuneralhome.com for online guest book and information.
