Philip D. Fullin of East Falmouth died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at Falmouth Hospital. He was 73 and the husband of Carol A. (Peters) Fullin.

Born in Oak Bluffs, he was the son of Remo and Alice E. (Duart) Fullin. Philip was a 1961 graduate of Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School. He worked at Yates Drug Store in Vineyard Haven and for 36 years with Cape and Vineyard Electric, retiring as an assistant line supervisor in 1997. In his retirement he worked at the Island Queen and Home Solutions, both in Falmouth. Phil was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Falmouth and taught CCD for 18 years at St. Anthony’s Church in East Falmouth. He was a Marian Medal recipient and also received the Liberty Mutual Life Savers’ medal in 1971.

Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Vanessa Scheurer of East Falmouth; a granddaughter, Kristina Berkeley, and her husband Daniel of Windermere, Fla.; and two brothers, Remo Fullin Jr. and Nicky Fullin, both of Martha’s Vineyard. He was the father of the late Glenn Fullin and brother of the late Timothy Fullin.

Visiting hours will be Friday, Feb. 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home in Falmouth Center. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13 at St. Anthony’s Church, 167 East Falmouth Highway in East Falmouth. Interment will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
