Juliet Concetta Stabile of Oak Bluffs died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 1. She was just 20 days shy of her 80th birthday.

Julie was born and brought up in the North End of Boston to Felix and Edith (Iannillo) Carlino.

After eloping with Michael M. Stabile, they settled in Medford and raised four devoted children together.

Julie had an entrepreneurial spirit, so after many years in the bar business (The Monkey Lounge and The Camelot Lounge) she opened Mohawk Lighting and Ceramic Supply, first in Medford and then in Malden and Portland, Me.

It was unfortunate that she had a very serious brain bleed at the age of 45 and never fully recovered from this devastating incident.

Julie was strong and determined to live life to its fullest and that is exactly what she did. She moved to Martha’s Vineyard with her daughter and her family in 1995. Martha’s Vineyard was a great fit for Jules. She made so many friends through her daughter, son in law and grandsons. For someone who couldn’t communicate in the traditional sense, she left her mark and sense of humor with so many. Julie’s smile and laughter was contagious and she made everyone feel her love.

The last four years she resided at Windemere Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility and again, became their beacon of light. Always willing to attend any activity she was invited to, be it swimming at the YMCA or a Minnesinger Concert, she was up for a good time. Her family would often receive reports of Julie sightings, like a text saying “Hey, I saw Julie at the Fair” along with a photo of her with the animals.

She leaves her husband, Michael M. Stabile of Methuen; her sons Michael J. Stabile and his wife Karen, John F. Stabile and his wife Tracie, and Steven L. Stabile and his wife Denise; and her only daughter and best friend Annie Bradshaw and her husband Jeremy. Julie is also survived by 11 grandchildren and two beautiful great-grandchildren.

Julie was predeceased by her parents and her brothers Angelo and John.

Jules was full of life, amazing and beautiful. She will be especially missed by her daughter Annie and son in law Jeremy along with her grandsons Max and Matthew Bradshaw of West Tisbury.

She was blessed with the friendship and love of so many ... may she soar!

A funeral Mass will be held on March 21 (her 80th birthday) at the Grace Church in Vineyard Haven at 11 a.m. A reception and celebration of Julie’s life will follow.
