Cecelia M. (CeCe) Goulart Viera of Falmouth died on Monday, August 29 at the Falmouth Hospital. She was 70.
She was the wife of the late John Viera Jr.
CeCe was born in Edgartown to the late Louis and Mary (Pacheco) Goulart. She worked for more than 29 years, up until May 2016, as a switchboard operator at the Falmouth Hospital.
CeCe was a wonderful cook, famous for her backyard cookouts. She also enjoyed movies, beach drives, Edgartown sunsets, having her hair done, and bringing her dog, Baby Bella, to the dog park. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Pamela Viera of E. Falmouth; Cheryl Peterson of Moore, S.C.; John Viera of Mashpee; Linda Willis of Mashpee; Sandra Silva of Teaticket; and Michael Viera of Sagamore. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren: Jessica, Justin, Jason, Mackenzie, Melyssa, John, Devin, Jordan, and Maxwell; her sister, Jane McCagg of North Stonington, Conn.; and many nieces and nephews. She was sister to the late George Goulart, Louis Goulart, and Richard Goulart.
Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, at the Chapman, Cole, and Gleason Funeral Home at 475 Main street in Falmouth Center. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 2, at St. Anthony’s Church, 167 East Falmouth Highway (Route 28), Eat Falmouth, followed by interment at the St. Anthony Cemetery.
