Rodman Townsend Davis died on August 15 at the age of 82.

A longtime summer resident of Edgartown he was married there on August 26, 1961, at St. Andrew’s Church, to Eleanor Childs, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Edward P. Childs of New York and Edgartown.

He was born in New York city and attended Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania, where he received a master in city planning and was a Fulbright Scholar.

He worked for the City Planning Commission in New York, The Hudson River Valley Commission and The Metropolitan Regional Council.

He is survived by his children, R. Townsend Davis of New York and Sag Harbor, Henry P. Davis of New York and Vineyard Haven, and Ruth Davis Konigsberg of Pelham, New York, and seven beloved grandchildren.
