Robert Kane of Wyckoff, N.J. died Friday, Oct. 7. He was 49.

Born in Hackensack, N.J., he lived in Ridgewood, N.J. before moving to Wyckoff 14 years ago. Robert was a self-employed attorney with an office in Wyckoff. He was a member of the New Jersey and New York Bar Associations as well as a certified matrimonial attorney. He was also admitted to the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States.

He was Vice-Chairman of the Wyckoff Planning Board as well as a member of other various social organizations.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Celeste, his sons, Benjamin and Matthew, his parents John and Carol Kane of Rockaway, N.J. and Edgartown, and his mother in law Anne DiPasqua of Mahwah, N.J. He is also survived by several sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was predeceased by his grandparents formerly from Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y. and Maywood, N.J.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, Oct. 10 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin avenue in Wyckoff, N.J., vpfh.com.

A funeral Mass will be Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 9:45 a.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Roman Catholic Church, 700 Wyckoff avenue in Wyckoff, N.J. Interment will follow at the Maryrest Cemetery.
