Margaret (Maggie) E. Macdonald Nelson of Vineyard Haven and Naples, Fla., and formerly of Sharon and Milton, died Sunday, Oct. 30 in Naples after a long battle with cancer.

She was the beloved wife of David E. Nelson for 58 years.

Maggie was a retired employee of John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston, and an unwavering fan of the New England Patriots. Maggie and Dave have spent many wonderful summers on the Vineyard with their beloved family, friends and neighbors. They are grateful for their love and support over the past year and a half, during Maggie’s illness.

She was the loving mother of Donna and her husband Stephen Pozner, David and his wife Diane, Susan and her husband Peter Jalbert, Barbara and her husband Richard Dwyer, and Mark and his wife Michele; and the cherished grandmother of Jessica, Daniel, Elizabeth, Michael, Jenna, Rebecca, Kayla, Hadley, Steven and Ashley.

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Sharon.
