Elizabeth Caroline (Wadsworth) Schupner, formerly of Upper Nyack, N.Y. and a seasonal resident of the Camp Ground in Oak Bluffs, died Sept. 3 at the Regency Nursing Home in Somerset, N.J. She was 88.

Elizabeth was born in Nyack, N.Y. on May 13, 1929, the daughter of the late Horace E. Wadsworth Sr. and the late Dorothy G. Wadsworth. She was married for 47 years to the late Raymond L. Schupner.

She was a graduate of Nyack High School class of 1947. She resumed her education later in life, earning an Associate of Arts degree in liberal arts from Rockland County Community College in Suffern, N.Y. in 1980. She was a homemaker and worked for the United States Postal Service in Palisades, N.Y., and at Nyack College in Nyack, N.Y.

She was a member of the Shatemuc Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by her sons, Ronald E. Schupner and his wife, Colette, and John K. Schupner and his wife, Kathleen, as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and a nephew. She was predeceased by two sons, Raymond R. Schupner, who was married to JoAnn, and James K. Schupner, who was married to Dale.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, N.J. 08887, with words of prayer officiated by Rev. Dan Lundquist.

Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 1:30 p.m. at Martha’s Vineyard Trinity Methodist Church in Oak Bluffs, with Rev. Roberta Williams as officiant. Graveside service and interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Bluffs.
