Aurora (Ora) Ferreira Reardon, 70, died at Heritage Rehab and Living Center in Winthrop, Me. on Friday, April 13 after a long battle with dementia. She was 70.

She was born on Martha’s Vineyard on June 7, 1947, the daughter of James and Aurora (Rose) Ferreira.

She worked at Cottle’s Supermarket, Carleton Woolen Mills and S.J. Wood Construction in Winthrop before her retirement.

Ora enjoyed hunting, fishing, cross-stitching, cooking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved entertaining at her home with her many friends, and with her generous spirit and fun-loving personality always made everyone she met feel like family. Spontaneous and always ready for an adventure, she would even go out on the town in her flannel nightgown with her sister and friends by her side.

Ora is survived by her husband, Thomas F. Reardon Sr.; son, Thomas Reardon Jr. and his wife, Rhonda; two daughters, Miranda Ketchen and her husband, Michael and Callie Campbell and her husband, Bernard Jr.; five grandchildren, Brianna Reardon, Mitchell and Michaela Ketchen, and Hailey and Kailyn Campbell; sister, Jean Fontaine and her husband, Joseph; brother, James Ferreira and his wife, Lois; and sister in law Ellen DeWitt and her husband, Edwin. She is also survived by her nephews, “Little” Joe Fontaine, Steven DeWitt, and Jacob Ferreira, and niece Katie Forend.

Her family would like to thank Heritage Rehab & Living Center and Androscoggin Home Healthcare & Hospice, especially the nurses, CNAs, med-techs and hospice staff that made Ora’s last months and her cherished “lunch dates” so memorable.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, May 5 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the American Legion, Alfred W. Maxwell Jr. Post 40, 117 Bowdoin Street, Winthrop, Me.
