Bruce Finley Thomas died on Sept. 13 while living at Dillingham Place in Falmouth. He was 85.
Bruce was born on Jan. 10, 1933 in Ohio, the son of Vivian Finley and Jonas Thomas. Bruce grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and later graduated from the University of Illinois. Bruce spent most of his professional career working in Manhattan.
He moved to the Vineyard year-round in the 1980s where he lived in Oak Bluffs with Eve Switzer. Eve and Bruce later retired to Falmouth.
Bruce was drawn to the beauty, the people, the ethic and the food of the Cape. Bruce loved the sea and he loved to sail. He was also an avid and accomplished curler.
Bruce leaves his two sons, Chris Thomas of White Plains and Rob Thomas, and his wife Cheryl of San Francisco. He will always be remembered for his wit, charm and humor.
A private ceremony is being held by family.
