Arnold Stoehr Brooks died on Oct. 3 in East Providence, R.I. He was 69.

Mr. Brooks was known as Skipper to his family and friends. Born in Newport, R.I., he was the son of Dorothy M. Brooks and the late Arnold C. Brooks. He was an artist, drummer, animal lover and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed watching movies and TV. He was involved with the Maher Center workshop in Newport, R.I. and the Life Inc. group home in Bristol, R.I. He attended Camp Jabberwocky for over 50 years, known there as the world’s happiest man. He gave joy to everyone he met.

He is survived by his mother Dorothy M. Brooks, his sister Ruth Procaccini and brother in law Dr. Robert L. Procaccini, a niece Dena C. Procaccini, and many cousins and friends. He was the uncle of the late Eric R. Procaccini.
