Robert E. Aston, loving husband, father and grandfather died peacefully after a brief illness on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at the Bailey Center, Community Hospice, in St. Augustine, Fla.

He was born on Dec. 12, 1932, in Queens, N.Y.

Bob served as a member of the US Army, retiring as Lt. Colonel after 20 years of service. He then taught at Ohio State University and served with the Federal Emergency Management Agency for some time. He enjoyed laughter, music and many beautiful summers at the family home on Martha’s Vineyard.

He will be greatly missed, especially for his sense of humor and love of family.

He is survived by his wife, Jean, his daughter, Elizabeth, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Joan.
