Mary Jane (Midge) Knipmeyer, of Wilmington, Del. and Martha’s Vineyard, died of natural causes on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

She was born on April 17, 1930 in Bryn Mawr, Pa., to Milton LeRoy and Marion Goff of Villanova, Pa. and Vineyard Haven.

She graduated from the Baldwin School of Bryn Mawr, Pa. and Wellesley College in Massachusetts where she met her late husband, Hubert Elmer (Knip) Knipmeyer, who was attending MIT, on a blind date.

Mary Jane was a dedicated mother with endless devotion to her two sets of twins. She was a member of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, and the West Chop Club on Martha’s Vineyard. She who dearly loved animals, playing tennis, needlework and sewing.

She is survived by her four children, Ken, Steve and Matt Knipmeyer and Betsy Gibson, and seven grandchildren, Eliza, Doug, Meredith, Amelia, Cooper, Chase and Kate.

Funeral services are currently being planned for the spring, and will be held at the West Laurel Hill Cemetery in Bala Cynwyd, Pa.
