Marjorie Meyerstein Hayes died at home in Falmouth on Nov. 27, 2018, after a brief illness. She was 89.

The oldest of two children, she was born in East Orange, N. J. on Oct. 30, 1929, to Anthony and Margaret O’Connor Meyerstein and was raised in Short Hills, N.J. She attended The Oak Knoll School and Rosemont College and was married on July 7, 1951, to Charles Hartkoff Hayes, who predeceased her.

Before settling in Falmouth, she also lived in Summit, N.J., on Martha’s Vineyard and in Greenville, Del., for many years.

She is survived by her sister, Antoinette Meyerstein Cavanagh, of Media, Pa.; and 10 children, 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four nieces and three nephews.

Services will be private.
