George Kudravetz of Charlottesville, Va., 99, died on Jan. 1.
A long-time summer resident of Martha’s Vineyard, George was a veteran of two wars, World War II and the Korean War. During his military career and extensive travels, he lived in and visited many places, but his favorite place in the world was the Vineyard where he spent many happy summers over the last 48 years in his “home” on the waterfront by Eastville Beach.
He was an avid fisherman and competed in many Striped Bass and Bluefish Derbies, and in 1986 won first prize for the largest bonito.
He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Barbara, and sons David of Charlottesville, Va. and Douglas of Arlington, Va. and their families.
Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
