Angela F. Fiorelli, formerly of Shrewsbury, Boston and Oak Bluffs, died on Thursday, Jan. 17 in Holland, Mich., with her family by her side. She was 94.

Angela fell in love with the Vineyard when she came to the Island on vacation with her college classmates. She graduated from Boston University and became a certified public accountant when it was uncommon for women to be in business. As a CPA, Angela practiced in Boston and on the Vineyard.

While in Boston, she met and fell in love with Nathaniel Stevens and they were married in 1988. In 1995, she and Nate moved to Oak Bluffs. She loved to take walks to the beach in the late afternoon and return to her front porch to enjoy a gin and tonic with Nate before dinner. Angela also enjoyed hosting lobster bakes on her porch each year for her birthday. Angela and Nate had a great number of friends and neighbors in Oak Bluffs and the Island was their home.

Nate died in 2006 after a long illness, which deeply saddened Angela and affected her health. Nate was a former Marine and was interred in the National Cemetery in Bourne. Even though her health was impaired, Angela remained in Oak Bluffs as long as she could, then moved to Holland, Mich. to be close to her family.

She is survived by her sister in law, Maria Fiorelli and two nieces. She was predeceased by her siblings.

A funeral mass was held on Jan. 23 in Holland, Mich.

Her ashes will be interred with her husband Nate’s at the National Cemetery in Bourne in May.

Memorial gifts can be made in Angela’s memory to the New England Center and Home for Veterans at nechv.org/donations/tribute-giving/.
