William E. Kennedy of Edgartown died on July 22 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. He was 77.

He was born on Feb. 13, 1942 in New York city, the son of William and Ruby (Watts) Kennedy.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, and worked for Hinckley’s Hardware store in Vineyard Haven.

A graveside service was held in the New Westside Cemetery in Edgartown on July 29, with military honors provided by the Veterans of Martha’s Vineyard.
