Bob Bostrom, accomplished attorney, beloved husband and father of four, died suddenly Jan. 18. He was 67.

Bob and his family spent most summers at their Edgartown home enjoying the Island while kayaking or boating in Edgartown harbor, biking along South Beach, swimming at the Chappy Beach Club, savoring the twilight hours at the EYC dock, picking up pizza and oysters at Giordano’s, or grabbing a pint on a cool day at The Newes.

Off-Island, he was most recently named chief legal officer of Pier 1 Imports Inc., and prior to that held the top legal position at Abercrombie and Fitch and NatWest. From 2006 to 2011, he served as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Freddie Mac. He also held leadership roles at top law firms and was managing partner of the New York office at Winston & Strawn for a decade. He earned his law degree cum laude from Boston College Law School and a master’s in international affairs from Columbia University.

Bob and Elizabeth, his wife of 41 years, were blessed with four children: Leys, Ashley, Allison and Elliott; and four grandchildren, who all survive him. He is also survived by a sister, JoAnn, his mother Angie, and two aunts and an uncle.

He was an exceptional man who led a successful career with ethics and integrity. He was role model to many and the shining light and north star to everyone in his family.

Funeral services were held in New York city.

Interment will be private in Edgartown.
