Tom was my very first, and best childhood friend with whom I shared so many great adventures and good memories until the family tragedies he endured as a young man sent him on a different path in his life. Although our paths diverged for years, the friendship we built through childhood never faded even after more than 65 years. I cherish the years that I got to spend with him, and shall carry him in my heart for ever. As I told him in our last communication, he is the only person in my life with whom I can not recall a single unkind word spoken between us. He taught me something new almost every day as we grew, but most of all, he taught me how to be a good friend. Although he was not often seen after he left Cambridge, he was often missed and will now always be missed. Rest in peace dear friend.
