Autumn McGowan died on the weekend of August 23, and the world grew dimmer for her family and friends.

Formerly known as Austin McGowan, she was just shy of 24. She was a talented artist, skateboarder, friend to many, and loved by even more.

A celebration of life is being planned for October.

I first met Autumn when she worked as a cashier at Stop & Shop, and always made a point to go through her checkout line because she was so bright and helpful. Later, Autumn brought the same brightness to her job at the Green Room. To her family and friends, I'm so sorry for your loss.

I so appreciate Alley Moore's Comment. My parents, Jim and Ellen McGowan (Autumn's grandparents) have taken great comfort in hearing from her friends. As family they were always there for her, but so many others were as well -- even just kind folks she encountered. That's a blessing to us all. Thank you.
