Kathleen Marie O’Sullivan died unexpectedly on Dec. 9. She was 71.
Kathy was born in Norwood, the daughter of the late John J. Egan and Beverly A. Webster King. She was a 1967 graduate of the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School.
She worked at the Martha’s Vineyard Insurance Agency for over 36 years. She was in several plays on the Vineyard, an integral part of the Island Children’s School, held other various jobs and volunteered for numerous events.
She was very creative and artistic. She loved dressing her three kids up for Halloween and sewing clothes. She was a folk singer, played the guitar and encouraged her kids to share her love for music.
Her greatest joy, along with her husband Dave and family, was running. She ran several marathons all over the United States. She met several friends along the way that became family and an incredible support system to her as well. She loved to take many selfies along the way!
She had an incredibly kind and generous heart; quick and hearty laugh, and true love for life. Her joy and positivity were infectious, and she touched many lives.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband David J. O’Sullivan, whom she was married to since 1985; her sons Jeffrey P. Kurth Jr. and Jason C. Kurth; daughter Kristina M. Kurth; and grandson Jason D. Kurth, whom she adored (he called her Nana).
She was predeceased by her sisters Donna Egan and Elaine King. She is also survived by her brother Billy King Jr., and his wife Bonnie King; family members Janet King, Wendy Devine and nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at a later date on the Vineyard.
