Christine Gail Cox died peacefully on Dec. 27, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by family.

Christine graduated from The Sidwell Friends School in 1980 and from Skidmore College in 1984, where she double majored in graphic design and art history. She lived in Georgetown, where she created a beautiful home and devoted herself to raising her children. She was a lover of all things artistic, and throughout her life she demonstrated her incredible skills in graphic design, oil and watercolor painting, and silkscreen printing.

She spent many summers on Martha’s Vineyard with her family and lifelong friends, where she enjoyed her favorite hobbies: reading, making handmade gifts, and beach combing. She will be remembered for her creativity, her generosity, and her love for family.

She is survived by her two children, Anna Hill and Christian Hill; her mother, Marie-Louise Cox-Swenson; her sister, Leslie Cox; her brother, Kenneth Cox and his wife Alison Vest; nephews Andrés Colón and Sebastian Cox; and a niece, Alicia Colón. She was predeceased by her father, Alan Cox.

A service will be planned at a later date.
