Jennifer L. (Colligan) Kuehne of Marstons Mills died April 19 at the Cape Cod Hospital after a year-long battle with cancer. She was 46.

Jen was born on April 11, 1975, in Oak Bluffs. She was the daughter of Thomas Colligan of Edgartown and Paula Strople of Daytona Beach, Fla.

She graduated from the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School in 1993. She obtained her associate’s degree in arts from Cape Cod Community College as a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Most recently she enjoyed working at Macomber’s Sanitary Refuse.

Jen was a talented artist with an entrepreneurial spirit. She shared her passion for art by offering art classes to friends and family in addition to developing coloring walls for preschoolers through adults to enjoy. She also enjoyed the history of Cape Cod and the Islands. Her artistic talent led her to create beautiful paintings and murals throughout the Cape Cod community in many businesses, homes and the Marstons Mills Elementary School. Among her many accomplishments, she was most proud of her children, Alyssa and Oliver.

She is survived by her loving children Alyssa and Oliver Kuehne; her parents Thomas Colligan and Paula Strople; her stepmother Patti Young; brother Thomas Colligan; step-siblings Heidi and Todd Vanderhoop; grandmother Charlotte Strople; former husband Christopher Kuehne; eight nephews and multiple aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather Arthur Strople, her paternal grandparents Lillian and Edward Colligan and her uncle, Leonard Strople.

Jen will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and kind heart and for always putting others before herself.

A memorial service is being planned on Martha’s Vineyard during the summer months.
