Elena Sarah Picco died in a motor vehicle accident on May 30. She was 37.
Elena attended Trinity High School in Manchester, N.H. and Southern New Hampshire University. As a teenager, she was an expert rider. With her two ponies she was state ranked at the age of 17 in Large Pony Hunter and Pleasure.
After her teenage years, her main focus in her life was her children, Sierra and Mackenzie. Elena overcame many personal struggles to be the best that she was able to be for her children.
She was loved so much by so many. She left the world with two wonderful children, and a heroic tale of trying to overcome drug addiction. She did her very best and her family honors her for it.
She is survived by her children, Sierra and Mackenzie Flanders and their father Richard Flanders; her parents Valerie Picco and Robert Picco, and her stepfather Richard Davis; a sister Whitney Picco; her grandmother Sara Stone; and many friends.
Good night and sleep well, Elena. We will never forget you and never stop loving you.
Contributions can be made to any drug treatment programs in her name. Emerson House in Falmouth did a lot for Elena; there are many other treatment centers as well.
