Frances Elizabeth Smith of Oak Bluffs died on July 4 at Windemere Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 93.

She was born March 31, 1928 to Edwin T. and Florence M. Smith at their home on Pease’s Point Way in Edgartown. She worked at the Edgartown Senior Center and was a member of the Federated Church in Edgartown. She was also a 50-year member of the Oriental Chapter number 93 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She served in the chapter for 47 years, including as a past matron for three years and a grand representative to New Mexico in 1977. She enjoyed cross stitch, cooking and traveling.

She is survived by many close friends.

Frances was interred at Old West Side Cemetery in Edgartown on July 8. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Federated Church in Edgartown.
