William E. Boerth of Chesterfield, N.J. died July 7. He was 70.

Born in Fargo, N.D., Bill graduated from Fargo North High School in 1969, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1973 and received his master’s degree in public administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He served as the town administrator for Tisbury from 1984 to 1987, and was later borough administrator for Atlantic Highlands and Metuchen, N.J., before retiring in 2014.

He was a history enthusiast and Civil War re-enactment cavalry soldier. He adored his animals and loved creating a beautiful home with his wife Corinne on their horse farm in Chesterfield.

He is survived by his wife, Corinne Weatherly Boerth; his twin brother Richard J. Boerth and his wife Wendy Oberlin; brother Don Boerth and his wife Lynne; sisters in law and brothers in law Joanne Boerth, Harold L. Jr. and Gayle Weatherly, and Ben L. and Dianne Weatherly; nieces and nephews, dear friends and his beloved cats, dogs and horses.

Private services are under the care of the Saul Colonial Home in Hamilton Square, N.J.
