David Edwin Wright, a former Vineyard resident, died peacefully after a long illness on Oct. 30, 2020 in Hoosick Falls, N.Y. He was 85.

He was born on Sept. 17, 1935 in Wheeling, W. Va., grew up in Ohio and went to college in Massachusetts. He worked in Massachusetts, as well as around the world, for much of his life. After retiring, he remained in Massachusetts for several years until moving to Florida. He made a final move to New York.

He was predeceased by his parents, Francis H. and Sarah (Sally) R.J. Darby Wright, and three brothers: Francis H. Jr., Kenneth N., and Richard L. Wright.

He is survived by four children and their spouses: Liz Wright and Scott Segee, Hugh and Rebecca Wright, Kathryn and Philip Tura, and David Wright and Carolyn Jones. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: George Segee-Wright, James Segee-Wright, Jacob Tura, Serena Tura, Olivia Tura, Charlotte Jones Wright and William Wright.

A private memorial will be held at a time to be announced.
