Leonora C. Costanza of Oak Bluffs and formerly of Milford died Oct. 22 at the Seasons Hospice Home in Milton after an illness. She was 74.
She was born in Framingham, the daughter of Peter and Eleanor Lanzetta Costanza. She attended Milford public schools and graduated from Milford High School, class of 1965.
She had been a resident of Martha’s Vineyard for more than 20 years. She was employed in the restaurant industry for many years. and had served as an assistant, confidante and caretaker to her friend Dorothy West.
Leonora loved to travel, had a keen eye for fashion and clothes, and loved to cook and entertain her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Blythe Coleman-Simmons of Stoughton; her grandchildren, Dennis Harmon of Atlanta and Milan Simmons of Rochester; her siblings, Peter Costanza of Milford and Geraldine Christenson of Calif.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and an uncle.
She was predeceased by her parents and her siblings, Joseph Costanza and Maria Hunter.
In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated. Relatives and friends are invited to extend their condolences to Leonora’s family on Sunday, Nov. 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home in Milford. A private celebration of life will be held immediately following the visiting hours. On Nov. 13, another celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. at the VFW Club in Oak Bluffs
