Kevin Andrew Lewis of Oak Bluffs, affectionately known as Kev, died suddenly on Nov. 26. He was 57.

He was the beloved son of Darlean Lewis and the late Stephen Lewis, and the loving brother of Darrel Norman, Amy Landers and the late Bryan Lewis.

Kevin was born on June 5, 1964. He was raised in Boston and spent most of his life working for the Boston public schools. Upon moving to Maryland in 2013, he continued working in the public school system.

His passion for tennis led him to start teaching lessons of his own to youth and adults because sharing the game he loved brought him great joy. His ultimate goal was to start a tennis business.

In November 2020, he returned to Martha’s Vineyard, his favorite place on earth. He had the distinct honor of becoming the tennis coach at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School. He was also ecstatic to reconnect with so many childhood friends.

He was an avid bowler and, over the years, enjoyed bowling leagues with friends. As a skilled card dealer, he could often be found luring friends and family into a game of poker or taking a trip to the casinos.

He was kind, friendly and was blessed with a large social circle that will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his stepdaughter Tashia Henderson of Boston, Kevin Lewis Jr. of Quincy, Breannah Conward-Lewis of Boston and Taleah Conyers of Delaware; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and close friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a brief visitation at Chapman Funerals & Cremations in Bridgewater on Friday, Dec. 17 at 10 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11. Repast information will be provided after the service. Interment will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Bluffs on Tuesday, Dec. 28 at 11 a.m.
