Celebration of John Hughes

A celebration of life for John Hughes will take place on Saturday, May 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Agricultural Hall in West Tisbury.

Mr. Hughes, a leading pioneer in lobster research and former longtime director of the Massachusetts Lobster Hatchery and Research Station in Oak Bluffs, died on Nov. 28, 2021.

I had the opportunity to meet mr Hughes. Always a kind man, very proper, and always had a butterscotch candy to hand out. He was very proud of his work. He shared some of his work with me . Including pictures of his home. I looked forward to seeing him while he vacationed . He is missed.
