Charlotte L. Strople died on April 13 at the Halifax Medical Center in Port Orange, Fla. She was 90.

She was born and raised on Martha’s Vineyard, one of the six children of Rosalie Tilton and Edwin Leonard. She moved to Middleborough and attended high school there. She married her high school sweetheart Arthur W. Strople in 1953 after he returned home from serving in the military. They returned to her beloved Martha’s Vineyard in 1962 and purchased the house on Daggett avenue in Vineyard Haven where they raised their children.

She was a housekeeper for many years and later worked for the Martha’s Vineyard National Bank and Mederios Appliances.

She always took pride in everything she did and she made many lifelong friendships along the way. She will be remembered for her love of animals, her quick wit and her kind heart toward others.

Charlotte was predeceased by her husband, mother, father, brothers Donald and Edwin, her sons Leonard and Paul, son in law Pat Ryer, granddaughter Jennifer Kuehne and grandson Arthur 4th.

She is survived by her sisters Rosalie Benard and Ida Churchill, brother George Leonard; daughter Paula, son Arthur 3rd, daughter Rosemary and son in law Timothy Kieffer; and her stepson Donald Wager and his wife Georgette. She had seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In June, she will be interred alongside her husband Arthur at Rock Cemetery in South Middleborough.
