Susan Allyn (Susie) Safford died on Saturday morning, Feb. 11 at her home in West Tisbury. She was 75.

She was the wife of Anthony G. Omer, mother of Sarah Safford Omer and stepmother to Alexandra Locke Glover.

A complete obituary will appear in a future edition of the Gazette.

A memorial will be held on the Vineyard on her birthday, June 10, at a time and place to be announced.

I am so saddened to hear this. I have shared with Susie and Tony, being island parents and watching our children grow up here. From birthday parties to camp to just bring parents picking up our kids from day care. We weren’t always in contact, but we never stopped being part of the community. My heart goes out to Tony and to Sarah
