Betty Ann Dixon of Vineyard Haven died peacefully and surrounded by her family on August 8. She was 99.

She was the wife of the late Frank Thomas Dixon 3rd.

Funeral plans will be announced at another time. A complete obituary will be published in a future edition of the Gazette.

We were in the 4th or 5th grade when the Dixon family moved to W. Hempstead with 3 boys and 2 girls. Miss Betty was warm, caring, forgiving ( we became fast friends with Michael and we were a wild bunch ) elegant and kind. Those who were fortunate enough to be in her life will miss her wit and smile.
