Harriet Patricia (Pat) Valarie Morello Dorsey died peacefully at home in Charlotte, N.C. on Dec. 14, surrounded by her family. She was 85.

Pat was born Jan. 14, 1938 in Hartford, Conn. to the late Joseph Michael Morello and Harriet Mary Panas Morello. She was the sister of Christina Morello.

She married James J. Dorsey in 1958 and had five daughters, Valarie, Patricia, Elizabeth, Theresa and Jeanmarie. She was a grandmother to 11 eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

James was in the Army for 20 years, so she moved many times and saw Berlin, Rome, Paris, London, Moscow and a lot of the United States. She also learned to fly and scuba dive.

Pat and her husband lived on East Chop Drive from September 1999 to May 2012. She was a member of the Good Shepherd parish and president of the American Legion auxiliary in Vineyard Haven. When they moved to North Carolina, she became a member of the Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church parish in Charlotte.

Her funeral was held on Dec. 20 at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Charlotte, N.C.
