Robert Edward Lee Knight 3rd of West Tisbury died on March 5. He was 97.

He was the husband of the late Mary Carter Knight.

I am so sorry to read this notice. Bob was cheerful, thoughtful, and caring. We enjoyed hearing him play his ukulele. But favorite moments were listening in on conversations he shared with my father of their shared experiences as children, at college and in the war as teenagers. Holding his family in the light.

I will miss Bob, whom I knew through the MV Rotary Club. He always had a big smile , had thoughtful questions, and enjoyed volunteering even as his mobility decreased. Also, I enjoyed reading his many letters to the editor . Whether you agreed or not, they were always carefully crafted and well written .
